S&P 500 Emini Day Trading Gap Friday February 12, 2010
S&P Emini 500 Futures gapped down at the open 1.25 points. As it is wont to do on Thursdays, the gap filled in about 45 minutes. The index rallied into a range during the lunch hour, and stayed there the rest of the day. Volume was above average, and the close came at the high end of the day’s range at 1076.50. Tomorrow should bring diminished volume and volatility after the morning session. Traders are already making plans for the long weekend, and will leave the building early. Many day traders bypass trading on the Friday prior to a holiday weekend.
